9月3日、国連大学新大学院創設記念シンポジウムを開催／Inaugural Ceremony and Symposium for the New UNU-ISP Postgraduate Programme- 3 Sep.

今ようやく、地球上のさまざまな分野で、サステイナビリティを目的とした取り組みが見られるようになりました。そこで今回のシンポジウムでは、
画像をクリックするとポスターをダウンロードできます（pdfファイル・4.36MB）。ローマクラブから『成長の限界』の第一段階作業を委嘱され、世界にサステイナビリティという発想を提起したデニス・メドウズ氏を基調講演に招き、同氏の講演をもとに公開フォーラムをあわせて実施し、『成長の限界』で指摘された地球と人類のその後の状況と今後の展望について、参加者、来場者の皆さんと一緒に考えてみたいと思います。

なおこのシンポジウムは、本年9月より国連大学本部内施設に、「国連大学大学院サステイナビリティと平和研究科」が創設されることを記念して行われるもので、講演に先立ち、大学院創設記念式典が開催されます。

Now and finally, various measures and efforts to achieve sustainability have appeared in the various fields on the Earth. We, in this symposium, invite Prof. Dennis Meadows as a keynote lecturer, who was entrusted the work as the first scheme of "The Limits to Growth" by the Club of Rome and introduced the conception of "sustainability" to the world. Following his lecture, we will implement an open forum to consider and discuss with all participants and audiences regarding the future situation of the Earth and humanity provided in "The Limits to Growth".

The symposium is held as a commemorative event to celebrate the opening of "the New UNU-ISP Postgraduate Programme, Sustainability and Peace" dated this September; which is located in the facility of the UNU Headquarters. The commemorative ceremony will precede the keynote lecture.
